Karen Sinclair Kerns – Florida Licensed Interior Designer

Karen Kerns obtained her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design degree from Florida State University in 1999 and was awarded her Florida license and certification by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). During her college experience she gained great knowledge in architecture and interior design with study abroad programs located in London, Paris, and Milan and Venice Italy. Knowing how valuable it was to her clients to incorporate authentic European design and architectural elements, she continued to study abroad during her years of design experience in Croatia, Greece, Monaco, and Spain.

Karen’s 20 years of interior design experience has given her the privilege to work with top designers, architects, contractors, and developers along the gulf coast. After moving from Naples to Destin, FL in 2002 she began working as a senior interior designer and project manager at a leading architectural firm which brought her opportunities to expand her knowledge of the design field. In 2012 Karen is working at Lovelace Interiors in Destin, FL, the leading Interior Design Firm along the emerald coast. Karen’s projects included restaurants, schools, high end homes, offices, condominiums and renovations. She is involved in the project design from the preliminary architectural space planning to the completion of construction and furnishings installation. Aside from creating project concepts from the ground up, her expertise expanse also includes specifications of custom furnishings, lighting, cabinetry, plumbing, flooring, accessories, and window and bedding treatments. Her talent to interpret her clients desires along with ability for keeping balance between the function of the space and clients authentic design style are among her strongest attributes.

On a Personal Note:

My husband, Joe, and I married and moved to Destin in 2002. We have been by each other’s side since high school, and I would not have been able to follow my dreams without his incredible support. In 2007, we welcomed into this world our first child, Adriana, then in 2009, our son, Cameron.  We have been incredibly blessed and humbled by the experience of raising our children in this paradise we live in.
